Sophie joined the Rice Speir team in 2026 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and Science at the University of Otago.

Specialist areas:

• Regulatory compliance and enforcement
• Resource management and environmental

Sophie’s legal experience includes a summer clerkship with a national firm, where she worked across both the resource management and commercial teams.  In her final year of study, she also undertook volunteer legal work, providing advice to members of the local community.  She is driven by a strong foundation in legal research and a desire to work collaboratively to achieve effective legal outcomes.
