His arrival is an exciting time for Rice Speir, as his wealth of knowledge and expertise in private and public sector developments allows us to broaden our service offerings to our local government clients.

Cori has significant experience in undertaking and advising upon all aspects of property ownership and developments within the statutory framework of local government.  Notably, Cori played a key role in Auckland Council’s ambitious urban renewal disposal and development programme.

One of Cori’s standout accomplishments is his leadership in developing and implementing innovative infrastructure funding models. He also spearheaded Auckland Council’s response to the nationally significant Housing Acceleration Fund.

A proponent of ‘legal project management,’ Cori honed his skills in this area while leading several financially and politically significant projects in the local government context, Cori’s approach brings a blend of commercial judgment, mana, and a pragmatic can-do attitude to complicated matters and relationships.

Cori’s hiring is a strategic move for Rice Speir, reflecting our commitment to expand our service offering to local government clients in response to requests from our valued clients.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Cori is an avid American Football enthusiast. Additionally, he serves on the board for Habitat for Humanity Northern Region, showcasing his dedication to alternative social and affordable housing models.
